Subject: Luray Sprint, wetsuit?

Novice question...should I rent a wetsuit for the Luray sprint? This will be my third Tri, still learning the ropes.

You will most likely not need it - last year, the Olympic the day before was not wetsuit-legal. Magically overnight, the water temp dropped and they were legal for the sprint, but the water was like a bathtub. So unless you feel you need it for buoyancy, you won't need it for warmth. And if you do, don't go for full sleeves as it might be too warm.

The lake is very nice - small and clean.

As of 8/4 the temp was 85 so I'm guessing unless something major changes it won't be wetsuit legal. Just a guess though, if you have one I'd bring it just in case.
