Subject: Shopping for new frame - Questions
Hi Everyone

I currently have a Motobecane Nemesis (I pasted the specs below). I bought the bike in January and I like it a lot, but I think I could do better as far as the frame goes. Perhaps something lighter, stiffer and more aero. My plan all along was to get the nemesis (for $1000), us it for a season and then get a new frame and start transferring everything over to the new one.

I am thinking that I will be willing to put about $600-$700 towards a new frame. So, here are my questions:

Is $600-700 enough for a good tri bike frame or am I being un-realistic?

Where should I start my search, in other words, what frames should I be looking at? (I know, I know, the ONE THAT FITS!!! - I will be taking care of that at my LBS)

Thanks for any help or guidance.

Depends on what you want, especially if you want new or used. I bought a 2003 Litespeed Blade frame for $800 last winter with the same idea in mind, ended up selling my bike rather than moving components, and built up the Blade with brand new Ultegra 10-speed for the proceeds from that sale.

have a fit done, then take the numbers and make a list of all the bikes that will fit you, then search for the best deal.

if your fitter knows what he is doing he will be able to let you know the bikes that will and wont fit.
if your on the lookout for the planet x frame let me know.
