I've been a lurker for quite some time but thought I'd finally involve myself in the discussion forum. This is my second season of doing triathlon (sprints only) and I feel like this is really going to shape up to be a fantastic year. I have a bunch of races lined up as well as 3 open water swims. I didn't get to do much last year due to two injuries (broken left foot and broken right ankle, occuring one right after the other). I'm dealing with a lot of personal stress right now with a terminally ill father, so I've started focusing very intensly on my training as a relief outlet and I'm very pleased with the progress I've made since I've started really training in Jan. Plus I live in southwest Florida, so I have no excuse not to get out and go!

Anyway, just wanted to say hi. I have a few questions I will be asking in other topic columns, and I'm looking forward to the good advice I see on here all the time.

Welcome to BT. So sorry to hear about your father - glad to hear your hard workouts help relieve the stress you are going thru with all that. I also find working out to be great for dealing with the stress in my life. Yay for hard workouts!

Good luck with your upcoming season!

Hello fellow lurker.

I'm 33y/o and live in NJ. My father died of terminal cancer when I was 16. Can't believe he's been gone for so long. He has made me the strong person I am today!

Over the last three years, I have come and gone to BT always getting great advice, sometimes logging my training and nutrition. I am back for good and ready to have my best season to date. However, looking at the outside temp of 33 degrees I'd say I have a little more of an excuse to stay inside by the fire!

I have been doing a modified P90X program with emphasis on more cardio than the program offers. My goal this winter was to lose weight with P90X so I can FLY! Well at least go faster than in previous years.

Stay strong! I am not a tri expert by any means but I have 2x Ironman tri's under my belt. (My only 2 triathlons) Let me know if I can help you with anything.
