Subject: ARGH! My Stomach Hurts!
I went for a 6 miler tonight in 95 degree heat and after mile 2 my stomach/abs hurt so bad I had to walk.  I then had to run/walk my way through the entire 6 miles because when I tarted running again in about 5 minutes my ab pain took over.

I've done this exact workout in cooler weather and had no issue.  This seems to happen to me a lot in very hot weather and I can't figure out why.  Is it just an acclimatization issue?  Are my abs just that weak?  Am I overtrained?

Anyone else experience this at all?  If anyone has any thoughts that'd be great!?  I'm out of guesses...

I am not an expert but was wondering a few things that might help others help you...

What is your nutrition and hydration like?
Would you describe it as a muscle cramp, side stitch, or intestinal/GI discomfort?
How "hard" are you running when this happens?

Your "somach hurting" can mean a lot of different things, depending on what kind of "hurt" it is.

It's definately not like a side stich, or a GI issue.  It feels like I've done 1000 situps and is located centrally in my upper abs.

My hydration and nutrition have been pretty stable the past year or so without a ton of variation.  I drink plenty of water daily and usually eat a snack about ~2.5 hours before training (usually consists of yogurt, fruit, almonds, dry Kashi cereal).

This particular run was supposed to be a tempo run but it has happend in LSD runs as well.  The only thing that I can pinpoint to trigger it is the outside tempurature?????

Thanks for the guidance.
