Here's what I would do leading up to a key race: Day before - swim (preferably at venue ) for about 30 minutes with some (2-4x50's ) at race effort - ride (preferably at venue ) for about 45 minutes with some short (30-45 seconds ) at race effort - short run (preferably at venue ) with some 30 second pickups to race pace Two days before - off Three days before - swim and/or bike with some race efforts but mainly easy (50-75% of long workout depending on fitness, background, etc ) Four days before - run (50% of long run distance ) with some short race efforts, remainder easy Good luck, Shane |
