Hey everyone! I posted a question here about a month ago asking about my recovery between these two events (Auburn Half, May 31 & Vineman 70.3, July 19) and got some great responses, so I figure if anyone knows the answer to this, it's probably you guys!

I was wondering if anyone has competed in both of these, and if you could compare the two? I have completed the Auburn Half, and I am just wondering how the Vineman compares to the Auburn.

I am a little nervous, I had a sort of hard time with the run on the Auburn, and I am hoping to not have a problem like that again......

Thanks for any advice/information on this!

Haven't done the Auburn half, but I'm familiar with the course.  Have done Vineman 70.3.  Vineman run is easier.  It isn't flat, but generally just rolling terrain.  There's only one hill (which you go down around mile 3 and up around mile 10) that is really significant and even that isn't all that big (though a lot of people walk it).  The only thing with Vineman is that people will tell you it isn't a hilly run and then you're surprised when it isn't flat.  First (and last) 2 miles are flat, as is the mile or so on the winery grounds at the turnaround...the rest is rolling suburban/country roads.

Auburn run is more like Wildflower than Vineman...so for comparison sake:  I was 1:48 for the Vineman run last year, 2:17 for Wildflower this spring.
