Swim
Comments: I had not swam in OW in probably a year and have not swam much at all lately so I just wanted to get out of the water. I got off course bad before the 1st buoy but that helped me round the 1st buoy. Did better siting the second stretch and kicked it in the last stretch. What would you do differently?: Site better and swim more. Transition 1
Comments: 5th OA/ 1st AG. Long run from transition so I just tried to catch my breath. I meant put spray my feet with water to get off the sand but I forgot, luckily it did not come back to bite me later. What would you do differently?: Spray off the sand Bike
Comments: I knew the 1st 3 miles was uphill so I decided to put my shoes on in transition instead of messing around with them. I just spun the 1st 3 miles trying to keep my HR down. At mile 3 I crested the last hill averaging a whopping 14.5mph but that would soon change. By mile 10 I hit 20mph average and even had 1 mile at 31mph average. I was able to catch a lot of people from the olympic race but not many from the spring since my wave started 1st. What would you do differently?: Learn to climb hills better Transition 2
Comments: 35OA/3AG. Unvenful T2. Helmet off, hat on, Shoes on and go. I was tired so the run would be tough. What would you do differently?: Nothing just move quicker. Run
Comments: I did not know much about the run course so when I saw the first hill I got a little discouraged. I actually thought about walking after a few people passed me but I kept going, I knew it could not go on for ever. I only passed 1 person and only because they made a wrong turn. I did holler at them and they got back on course. I actually started to get in a nice pace by mile 2 and was started to gain on the person in front of me but ran out of room. The last .5 miles downhill was fun. What would you do differently?: Just run more. Post race
Warm down: Nothing, just stood around and talked What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training and fortunatley my past training carried me (again). Event comments: My company was one of the sponsors so I decided to do this race at the last minute and I am glad it did. Other than the long drive the race was fun. Other than not being USAT officiated (or officiated at all for that matter) everything was good. I have now done 2 "Norther" tri's and neither one has said anything about no drafting or even officated. Last updated: 2009-06-21 12:00 AM

Got up early to drive the 1:15 to the race. There was alot of clouds on the way and as I got closer rain (Dang it!). Got there early but since my race started 45 minutes after the Olympic I was not sure when the transition area would close. I got and end spot and setup my transition. I brought my wetsuit and was able to get in the water beforehand to determie I did not need it (barely).
Just a little swim to decide on the need for the wetsuit..
