Subject: Forearm location for aero bars
I just bought some Profile T2 clip on aero bars and I'm not sure where my forearms should be on the pads.  If I rest my elbows on them it is less strain on my arms, but my stroke gets choppy and less efficient.  If I rest the meat of my forearms on them my stroke is fine, but my arms hurt from the fulcrum effect (?).  An aero bike fitting would be the best answer but I don't have the budget for that at this point.  Any suggestions?

Here's a side view pic of me on the bike in the final position of my bike fit.  As you can see, my elbows are on the pads.  This allows for the skeleton to bear the weight not the muscle.

As for bike fit pricing, I got an "aero fit" done at RBM Frisco by Tom Ernst for $75.  Well worth it.

That's kind of what I was thinking, thanks for the confirmation.  I thought the location in that picture looked familiar; Frisco RMB by the restrooms is where I had my last fit too!  $75 isn't much and I do know it's worth it but with a child to feed and a dog that just tore her ACL I'm going to have to "suffer" for a while.  Maybe a Christmas present or something but I can fiddle with the bars myself for now.  Thanks again.
