"Quick" Question.

I have a mountain bike and am getting geared up to do my first tri, Im not ready to drop big money on a road bike but im thinking about getting some "slicks" or roadbike tires for my mountain bike. How big of a diffrence will that make? is it worth it?

Thanks

Andrew

It will make a HUGE difference! I know exactly where you are coming from. 3 years ago my first race was done on a mtn bike. I bought some slicks and it will make a huge difference in the level of effort for a race!

Ditto that! I was about to do that a couple of weeks ago but lucked out and a buddy sold me a 9 year old road bike in mint con. for $75. I had to take it. When I looked into it, it was about $40 to change them yourself with getting tires from MEC. A local shop I know in Abbotsford charges about $80 to do it including tires.
