Subject: How to prepare for half-iron training plan
Hey everyone,

I'm planning on using the beginner half-iron training plan (20wk) on this site, but my question is how to prepare for it.  I'm not coming off an active tri season, I'm kinda starting a little from scratch.  I have some races under my belt in the past, just not this past season.

Right now, I can run 3mi comfortably at around 9min-10min pace, bike 2hr30min at avg of 14mph (which includes some uphill). Swimming is another story, haven't actively been doing that for about a year but I've always been an average swimmer even without a whole lot of training.  I'm currently able to do open water once a week and still looking for a pool to train in for the rest of it.  I'll definitely have a pool available in February.

The race I'm planning for is the FL 70.3 in May so I have 15 weeks before the training plan starts.

Any help would be mucho appreciated

There is a 12-week "Olympic to Half Iron BRIDGE" training plan on this site. That might be a good starting place?

The bridge plan is a good suggestion or if you have one (or two) areas that you feel need more work then put more emphasis (work-outs) into those areas...
