I am curious as to the Transition Area set-up at Scoggins Valley Tri.  Is the transition area on the asphalt in the parking lot?  Is so, how do others handle the T1 with bike shoes?  Do you just run in your socks or bare feet and leave your shoes mounted on the bike and put them on while you ride?  Do you run with your clipless pedals on the asphalt to the mounting area?  Just need a little friendly advice I those who have raced at Hagg Lake or Scoggins Valley.

When I've done the Hagg Lake Tri they set up the transition in the small upper parking lot of Boat Ramp C. I put on socks in T1, put on my bike shoes and run to the bike mount line. I have Look pedals with plastic cleats so they pose little problems. I hope next year to be able to leave my shoes on my bike and put my feet in when I ride.

I have the same set-up (look pedals and plastic cleats).  I am considering leaving my shoes on the pedals coming in, but I am worried about them dragging on the asphalt and scaping my bike shoes up.

Thanks for the info.
