Anybody know Cabo area?

Hubby and I are trying to plan a vacation to the Cabo area and could use some advice. We really want to rent a private condo or villa.  We dont' like a lot of hype or crowds or development, but an oceanfront/beachfront place is a MUST.  We would like a few restuarants nearby.

Should we go for Cabo San Lucas, San Jose, Todos Santos? Other places?
