One of the roads on my way home from work, there is a middle school a block or so off the main road.

I'm sure it's a common thing, but I gotta tell someone.

I was driving slow, all the kids out on the sidewalk.  I must of seen about 30 or so bikes, all with what seems to be the latest fad bike handlebar accessory- a HELMET!

Maybe two or three kids had them actually on their heads.  This is a busy road, a two lane and folks tend to speed up to 50.   One of those handlebar accessories was brand new- silver chrome color and nary a scratch on it probably.   It's not unusual to see one or two riders without a helmet, but to see so many at one time in one place just freaked me out!

geez.   And it's against the law here in FL not to have a helmet ON YOUR HEAD if you're under 16.

this is one of my pet peeves, can ya tell?

rant off.  As you were.

I drive through two school zones on my way to and from work. What pisses me off is all of the people that speed through them, going at least 10mph over the school zone speed limit. That cheeses me off to no end.

I've been known to tell kids to wear their helmet when I pass them on the bike path. I tell them that they don't want to fall on their head too many times to become a mean geek like me .
