Comments: I took off and began my "labored" breathing right away. A friend of mine named Steve and I ran for the first 1/2 mile together, then he left me. I kept Steve in my sights for most of the race, then I over took him around mile 9. What would you do differently?: Warm up Post race
Warm down: Water, bagels, bannanas, walking. What limited your ability to perform faster: Mhy fatigue from the prior days 40M bike ride on a new bike. My general soreness going into the race, and the late night party at my boss's house the night before, and a poor nights sleep...besides that it was great! HA-HA. Event comments: Nice 20K hilly trail run. I was fatigued after yesterdays bike ride. This was my very first real trail race and I really enjoyed it. So different from a typical road race. Smaller crowd, but some very talented runners. Last updated: 2005-12-11 12:00 AM

We drove the 1.5 hours from Orange County to Malibu. What a pretty drive. We did 2 Starbucks stops on the way. We saw dolphins frolicking in the ocean on the way up, lots of surfers, a few sea lions, and some awesome homes of some really rich people.
We walked to register, and walked the .75 miles to the start line. No other warm up. That is sort of stupid.
