Subject: Fundraising Project (Silverman Triathlon) OK everybody, as usual, I'm back for advice/help. I've almost finalized my 06 race year, and am coming to the end of the calendar. I've been "flirting" with the idea of registering for the Silverman Full in November (yes, aka the toughest course in North America ) Now, since it would be my first full, I would obviously not concern myself with racing it as much as just trying to finish in a somewhat upright position with some dignity left. Which brings me to my point.
I saw on their site that a few projects enable racers or relays to raise money for charities. So, I've sent them an email today, but decided to ask here too - I would like to know how exactly to go about structuring a project like this. My thing would be to try and raise the money for their local communities as well as mine, for orphaned kids for the holidays. It's a personal story to me (my dad lost both his parents in a 1.5 year span and was alone with his brother at 15 ), so i thought with Christmas kind of right around the corner, it would be a cool idea to get some funds (or add to existing ones ) and get some presents going.
I know absolutely nothing about this, don't even know where I should start looking or even ask if people would accept this kind of a project, but all the advice I've gotten here has been great, so here I am, once more.
Thanks much,
