I picked up the pace to 10-15 sec/mile faster than what I usually do. I held the pace pretty solid for 5-1/2 miles then I started to fatigue. Not bad. I remember when I have been coming back to running after periods of dormancy and fading at 2-3 miles (at slower paces that what I was nailing this morning). It was 45 deg F this morning and it is days like this that I hit my fastest runs of the year. Before I will be ready to race I will have plenty of runs in the 90's and possibly even over 100.
Tonight is week 3 day 1 of the McAlester Youth Running Club so I will get in a few more miles with the kids this evening. I brought my swimsuit to work with me but figure there is about zero chance of breaking away at lunch for a swim today.
Took a day off yesterday as I was still sore from racing Saturday. Got on the treadmill for a 35 minute run tonight and felt good about it. Try and get another run in tomorrow and a trainer ride Thursday. Looking at taking part in a 70 mile bike ride in early March. Gotta keep up the saddle tolerance.
