Double spacing ?

I went into my control panel today to turn on the more advanced editors for my logs so that I could use all the cool colors and texts as everyone else.

My problem is that every time I press the <enter> key I end up with double spacing.  How do I prevent this?  In my goals I like to have a bulleted list single spaced, but I can't seem to make it work.
