...what race times?
My goal for my first tri is to finish w/o any disasters but I'm curious about what training times and paces translate to during a race.
I have a good idea about my running time but have no idea on the bike or swim.
For example, if my 100 yd swim time is 1:50 in a pool, generally what will that translate into for a first timer swimming in a lake for 400 yards, 10 mins?

I can't give you anything concrete, but lake vs pool swims will definitely be a little different...especially if you're not used to OWS.  The others will vary less.  I would think your bike would be fairly close to training assuming conditions are the same.

This is really hard to predict, simply because race day conditions can vary so widely. Weather and course conditions play a huge role in determining race times, and swimming and cycling are more likely to be affected than running.
