The Override statement only applies to the setting immediately above it: Allow guests of the site to view any logs you have made public?. Also, the "allow friends" setting does state that it applies only to logs that have been made public. By checking "Training log is private?" your son's training log was made ineligible to be governed by the settings below it. This allows for one's training log and nutrition log to have different levels of privacy.
The design philosophy followed is that when different security settings can be in conflict, use the most restrictive selected setting. This is a fairly standard practice in software design. |
