How many apples in a cup?

Elite  3201    South Florida |  Subject: How many apples in a cup?I just decided to make a last minute apple pie for tomorrow. The recipe I found says 8 cups of sliced apples. How many apples will I need to buy? Does one apple even make a cup of slices? Hmmm.... |

Pro 4612 MA | Subject: RE: How many apples in a cup? That's a very strange measurement unit.... a CUP of apple. Just get 6 or 8 apples. If not enough, make a smaller pie, or fill up with canned sliced pear/peach to make a "mixed fruit pie". If too many, you can alway eat it. |

I'd snag a couple extra one just in case they're on the small side. Yeah, I guessed about a cup per apple if they're big.
