Yes, please let the weather be nice!!!  Looks like we will be back in the 80s' for at least a couple of days this week. It would be great if we have the weather we had last year for the race. It was a perfect weather day. Crossing my fingers!

I'll be there, also hoping for nice but cool weather. A little nervous as I kind of consider this my first "real" tri, although I've done Tri for the Cure the last 2 years and several practice tri's with CWW tri group. I'll be easy to spot as I'l probably be the only one on a "girly hybrid" I wanted a new bike this year but finances just wouldn't allow this year. I got the feeling though that this was a very beginner friendly race.

Ready or not, I'm signed up. I'm doing the Stadium Run 10k tomorrow, so hopefully I don't hurt myself since that will be my longest run ever (I've done 5 & 5.5 miles, but never 6).

I really wish they would repave the road in Cherry Creek state park, the cracks are brutal.  I rode the course last weekend and remembered why I didn't like it during Tri the Creek.

Steve, I will definately look for you. I am not sure what I will be wearing as it depends upon the weather.  Probably the two things that might distinguish me from many of the others is my 2XU V:1 wetsuit (I don't see many people with those) and I ride a Felt road bike with areo bars. Again, not to many Felt road bikes in the races that I have been in.

Julta, You will be fine! This race is MUCH smaller then Tri for the Cure and therefore much more managable. I think you will find that people will be encouraging and supportive. It might not have the all womens "feel" but I don't think you will be disapointed. Once the race numbers are posted (or at least the waves) I will post what I know and maybe we can find each other before the race.

BobJ123, I am running the Fans on the Field 10k also. It sounds like it will be fun and it certainly is for a great cause. Crossing my fingers for clear skies

Kathleen, you and I both with the Felt road bike.  Haha.  When I was originally fitted they thought I'd be better on that given I'm 6'5.  Good luck!  I'll be down in Oklahoma, but I did this one last year and it's a LOT of fun.  The bike course is my regular training route, and it's a very pretty view of the front range.

Thanks Kath, I am looking forward to the smaller size, the part that concerns me a little is the swim. You know how polite women are...they are very careful not to swim over you. But I've done a couple of Boulder Stroke and Strides so I think I will be ok. I just stay to the back to start.

Nope, I am Frown  It was the same thing last year so I am not surprised.  Nothing like exiting the water as the winners are crossing the finish line.

Looks like we will have nice weather!! Smile

Me to Kath, I signed up athena, but even if I'd gone age group I'd be last. Guess I won't need to worry about getting run over in the swim.

I liked the way Tri the Creek did it where they started oldest to youngest.

Bib numbers are posted. I am #310.  I am going to try and get a spot close to the bike entrance/exit as it was really tight trying to get the bike in and out of the transition area last year. (for the women at least). Also the line for body marking was very long. I have a Sharpie in my bag so come on by to borrow it if you would like.
    See you on Saturday!

Yikes... I am the swim part of a relay team.
They put us with the young guys which will probably suck for me- men seem to be not as nice in the water, swimming over people and generally being rougher in the water. I think I'll hang in the back and let the whackos all go first, then I'll start out on my nice, slow swim.
So if you are in that wave please be nice.
The weather looks decent so far.

Had a fantastic time today!!!! We could not have asked for better weather! It was a beautiful day! The course was a little hillier then I anticipated. While nothing big seemed there were more small ones then I thought there would be. Looking forward to the official time being posted. I think that I actually had a PR. Still slow but getting faster! And finished with a big smile!

Hope everyone had a great day!

Race results are in and I'm really happy with how did. 4 minute PR. Still slow but getting better! I'm wondering though. My swim time was really fast (for me) 17.07 and I did a lousy job siting, went really wide, so I'm wondering if the course was short, also the bike, my average speed was 15.7 (not to bad for a girly hybrid! ) any way I'm guessing the bike was not quite 12 but maybe more like 11 miles. Anyone?

I would agree.  Both the swim and bike were short.  Yes perfect day out there!

I think the bike was about a mile short and I am guessing the swim was short also as my swim time was faster then it usually is.  We couldn't have asked for better weather!

It really was a beautiful day! I was out there volunteering (thank you, Racing Underground for the $50 race credit!!!!), and once the sun warmed things up a bit, it was perfect. I kind of wished I had raced it rather than volunteered, but between Harvest Moon last weekend and my mental block about swimming in CC (it grosses me out Tongue out), volunteering was a better option for me.

I might have body-marked some of you, and I definitely directed you on the bike course! Smile

Not sure how I feel about this race.  I beat my Tri the Creek time and finished in the top half of the clydesales, but it's the first race where I didn't feel like I left absolutely everything on the course and I don't think I performed as well as I could have.  I was somewhat unfocused a couple of times during the race and totally blew the swim in the first hundred yards when I had a mini-panic attack (after I calmed down, I actually felt like I had my best open water swim of the three I've done).  My T1 was terrible too.  I just felt sluggish throughout the whole thing.

The bike course was a little short as others have mentioned, I had 11.xx (I'll have to go check the gps) and didn't hit start on the 305 immediately, so I'd say it was .5-.75 miles short.  For some reason it is impossible for triathlon race directors to have accurate measurements.  The run seemed off too, at least the mileage markers, the first seemed long, but from 2 miles in it seemed short.  I didn't take the GPS on the run because I wanted to try not having it for once and I just end up aggravated when the mileage is off (which it has been in one direction or another in all three previous races).

I liked the run course better than the the Tri the Creek run, or the Rattlesnake.  While I'm not a fan of hills, I found it more interesting than those runs.  The thing I didn't like was the way the transition was set up.  Tri the Creek was way better.  Having the bike out & in at the same exit created a big advantage to putting your bike at that end.  Looking back, I really like the way Tri the Creek grouped you with your age group too.

It was a nice way to end the season, however, and I really liked getting a sweatshirt instead of another t-shirt.  Thanks to those of you who volunteered!

I had a great time yesterday, this was a really fun event for me.  Nice to meet a couple more BTers and see a couple other friends racing too!
I'm not going to complain about the swim and run distances getting shorted, other than, can they shrink the run a little too   LOL
And many thanks to all the volunteers, you guys rock!
