Interesting read there... I'm already signed up the the Half, as well as the Oly 2 weeks later.. Might need to do some race planning changes... lol

I've done the Oly 2 years in a row and was hoping to come back to Oliver this year for the Half and Oly. According to the Outback Events website, "There will be no refunds regardless of the reason or time of year and as always you will not be able to sell or transfer your entry to another competitor. ". I really hope this isn't going to apply to those that have already registered if these races do not happen. |

This would seriously screw my season up though, and it's not like I can easily afford to pay for a different race instead, let alone find a similar enough one that works with my current plan....  I'm hoping that this is some sort of misunderstanding and that they step up to the plate here. I know what it's like to be struggling, but I also hope that they remain honest and transparent about all this as well. |

I am working on a Tri camp for people doing the 1/2 so I would love to know if its a go for them and for my race fee's. Friends of mine today told me people were talking at Ironman last year and heard that 2012 was the last race. There site is still taking reg's. I have emailed my contact at Tribc to see if they know whats up. If the city has not approved it then it can't be a Tribc sanctioned race. |

Depending on your finances, Lake Stevens 70.3 (July 21st) is only 6 weeks after the proposed Oliver half. It also gives you a 4 week rest/taper period before Challenge Penticton, which isn't too bad. |
