Heay all,

Thanks for making it to the swim.  Especially Tim (all that driving).  I had fun.  Tabbs,  you will do fine this weekend!  I look forward to seeing race reports from Leamington.

Word on the street is that we might bike next Tuesday.

1.  Is Tuesdayday good?

2.  Is 7 pm good?

3.  Do we want to do the Loaring course?  (I know I do, but I am easy)

It was nice meeting the 3 of you last night. That was useful open water swim practice for me, thanks.

Next Tuesday at 7:00 should be fine for me for either a bike or another swim, or perhaps even both. County road 50 had some construction on it west of Arner so I will check and see if the loop where the Loaring is run is under construction right now.

I am so glad that we were able to get an open water swim in. I feel ready for Leamington now!

It was so great to meet you all. I love the energy. I think we may have the starting of an official Essex County Tri Group. Anybody else interested - just hopp on! Tuesday night at 7pm are usually open for me.

A bike would be great for next week. We have 4 weeks until the Loaring.

I would like to do that swim again. DaveH maybe you and I can do it again next week and let the kids play on the beach again.

Getting together for a bike would be fun, but a once a week open water swim group would be really beneficial for my training. It would also kill 2 birds with one stone as my kids were all over me last night to arrange a play-day with Tabb's kids.

I'd be interested in anything.

I am testing out route posting to help us with planning runs and bikes.

If you go to my training log there should be a route listed for my 10k run that my running club is doing tonight.  Let me know if you can access the map.  I am not suggesting this run at this time, but wanted to make sure others could access the map.  If it works, here is what I did...

-create my route using the route manager

-save it as a public route

-use it in the training log for others to access. (or list the name / location in a blog or email.  The route manager has a search function for public routes)

Great time. Thanks again Dave for letting me use the wetsuit. I would be willing to bike next week Tuesday at 7pm. I like Daves idea of a quick swim then bike or longer swim with short bike. As long as you don't mind me and my mountain bike. I hope more people can join us.
Tim

You want to borrow my road bike?

If that stretch of road re-construction is finished we could ride down road 50 do the Loaring loop and bike back to the beach in an hour.

Sure. Do you have some old running shoes laying around? Tri-shorts? Maybe I could borrow one of you kids for fathers day. Ha! See you next week.

I don't think that I could wash my tri shorts enough times that you would consider wearing them. However I do have a Giant OCR3 with Syntace aero-bars, and Look pedals that I hardly ever touch any more. Also an old pair of size 10 Shimano shoes with cleats that fit the Looks. Is this starting to feel like a garage sale?

You are welcome to use the Giant next week if you would like to see what clip-less and aero-bars feel like.

Invigilator - 2008-06-11 2:03 PM what is the name of that bike shop in Dearborn?

Bikesport. They are right on Michigan. Google them and you will find a very nice website with good articles on a variety of triathlon related topics. They have good prices and there is no duty on North American bikes, such as Cervelo and Felt that they stock. If you can wait until the end of the summer they have some great sales. I bought a Cervelo Dual there at the end of August about 4 years ago for $1200.

I like the idea of a short swim and a short bike for next Tuesday, especially if its some of the Loaring route. That would fit into my training plan (hits 2 birds with the same stone). DaveH, what will we do with the kids while we bike?

Then 1 week maybe we can do a run then swim, similar to the double loaring. See how our legs feel in the water.

I drove road 50 on the way home from work and the part that was under construction has all been re-paved, so we could bike it next Tuesday. Maybe a half hour swim and an hour bike that includeds the Loaring bike route. Not sure about the kids. We could try and persuade a spouse to come for an hour, or we could get them together another night.

I like the idea of the swim-bike.  If we were in the water by 7 p.m. we should be done with time to spare before sunset.

Thanks for the outing everyone.  I had a good time.

I was talking to Dave at the end of the night and we were batting around the idea of a swim run next week.

We could do 1-2 "beach laps" and then head over to the green-way and do a nice easy 5-6k.

7pm still good for everyone?

I had lots of fun last night - thanks again for coming out.

I love the idea about the Swim/Run as we will need to practice that for the Loaring Race, but, next Tuesday I have a meeting until 8pm.

I will see you guys the week after!!!!!
