Group ride in IMKS 70.3 course this Saturday?

I propose leaving from the Corps of Engineers building parking lot.  When you are at the stop sign at the end of Clinton Parkway (where you turn left to go to the dam or right to go to the park entrance) turn right but take the first left (not the second left like you are going to the transition area/campground).  Once you take the first left and start heading west, take the first right and you will be at the Corps of Engineers building parking lot.  You can see what I mean if you Google Map it and zoom in on that area.  We can head out from there as close to 1:00 as we are willing to wait for people.

Jon, I could probably break free Friday, but I doubt 2 long rides in a row would be the best idea just yet.  Instead, I might get out Thursday afternoon because it is supposed to be perfect (no wind) and I would have a day's rest before Saturday's long ride.

ok, plan on meeting at the corp building.  I think Reece is riding with me up there.  The race I am helping with starts at 8, so I see no reason I can't be in Lawerence ready to roll at 1. 

Oh, so just like KS 70.3 last year but 30 degrees cooler?  :-)  You aren't exactly supposed to have a calm day tomorrow, either.  That is why I am going to steal away from work this afternoon and enjoy a ride in calm winds for a change -- then just buckle down in the aero position for the ride Saturday.

I havent decided if Im doing the KC Tri or the 5i50 this year but have never riden the IMKS course so this might be a good chance to get familar with it.  Looking at my schedule for the next 4 weeks this might be my only chance so I'm going to try and make it too.

Yes, props to Jon for busting out 50 miles on the first outdoor ride.  I would say it was pretty even trying to get a strong ride in and not having to HTFU to get back to the truck.  Great way to kick off long rides outside again!

If the winds are that nice on June 9th, it'll be a good day.
