Extreme Veteran 684 Highlands Ranch, CO | Subject: Beginners iPod challenge -- February Let me know if you want to be included in a beginner's iPod challenge for February. I will automatically challenge anyone who participated in the January challenge, except maybe for the ringer from Hawai'i! I'm hoping the injuries will subside, and I'll be able to get a few miles in. Do you want to do both a distance and a 5K challenge? |

I just wish I could get 1/2 of the Hawaiin's distance... 5k and distance is cool... |

I'm not sure what the challenge is so if someone could explain it or direct me to the instructions that'd be great! Got un-lazy and did a little hunting for the original ipod/nike+ challenge and realized it needs gadgets that I don't have... hopefully I'll find another challenge that fits! Subject: RE: Beginners iPod challenge -- February I might like to join this challenge for distance only, but I do not know anything about it, and do not know where to go to find out more info about how this works and what I need to do. I am (and have been for far too long) plaqued with plantar fasciitis that does not seem to be getting better, but want to give walk/jogging at least one more consitent try. I do have a nano, but don't know what that means in this challenge. Any help? thanks |

If you are, I need your nike username or the email address you used to set up. If you're not, the kits are available in running stores, and I think places like Target for about $30. You do NOT need the specially-made Nike shoes, although they would like you to believe that. Look around in this forum for options on how to secure the transmitter to your shoe. Let me know your username, and I'll include you in the challenge. Good luck! I'm nursing injuries myself, so I might have to just let Possum win this time. |

Thanks... We pretty much operate on the honor system. If you think you're a beginner, you probably are. I would guess most of us are running (well) less than 10-15 miles per week. Autumn usually sets up intermediate/advanced challenges; look in the forum for the appropriate thread if you think you fit that category better. If you want to be included in the beginner's challenge, I need your nike+ username. Good luck. |

Thanks, Mike Sorry you can't join us, Mike. We do these on a monthly basis, so keep it in mind if a long-lost wealthy uncle suddenly kicks the bucket and leaves you more than enough to cover your books and student loans! Good luck! |

If I get it and get set up by February (a mere 2 days away!) I will let you know and take the challenge as minimal as my miles might be. Nancy |

Master 1810 Morse Lake, Noblesville, Indiana | Subject: RE: Beginners iPod challenge -- February Can you also sign up my running partner Greg? He's at [email protected] and his mileage will likely be simmilar to mine. It'll give him an excuse to have to pop on over to BT as well... He'll need distance and the 5k. |

Extreme Veteran 684 Highlands Ranch, CO | Subject: RE: Beginners iPod challenge -- February I've set up the beginner's distance and 5K challenges. It said everything was OK, but I can't see them in my list. I've been discussing with Nike what the problem is, and we tried starting over (so now there are 3 challenges out there), but they are just not showing up for me. Not sure what the issue is; it's been referred to Nike's IT dept., and it will take at least 24 to 48 hours to get a response back from them. Did anyone receive invitations? |

molto veloce mama 9311 | Subject: RE: Beginners iPod challenge -- February are the beginners and int/advanced just going to be the distance challenges? or are you setting up 5k and 10ks as well? i would be happy to set up the 5k and 10k events if we are doing those as one big group. anyone interested in doing a BT women's challenge? we could do distance or do a collective distance we're workout towards. |

I have set up (1/29) distance (twice) and 5K challenges, but they have apparently been sucked into a blackhole. I got confirmation that everything was set up successfully, but so far nothing shows on my challenge list, and apparently the challengers have not received their invitations. The Nike geeks are supposedly looking into it, but they're letting me know what they are finding. |
