Is there a ways to tell one from the other or does it matter?

A brick is right after no time lost - 2 a days are morning and evening type thing. The Brick is a swim Bike or a Bike run - yes very important

The 2 a days are two workouts on the same day.

If there are 2 workouts in a day on one of our training plans and it they are supposed to be done as a brick, it will explicitly say "Brick" or the workout details will say to go into one right after the other.  Typically this is a run right after a bike.

If it doesn't explicitly say so, then they're 2 distinct workouts to be done preferably at different times of the day.
