I had my first "Brick" today and I feel great! The times weren't great, but then, it was also my first time on the "real" bike instead of the stationary (and I haven't done it much).

Bike 9.2 mi. - 41:07.29
T2 - 3:59.99
Run 5k - 40:15.31

Had to walk some, but not as much as I would have guessed when I was on the bike. I actually thought that the run was a relief. I did find that my strides were very, very short to start with, but lengthened as I got into the run a little bit.

I can hardly wait until the next one. I still have 11 weeks until my race, and I am sure that if I continue my workouts I can really cut down on this time. Just running the distance should get me down to 30:00 or less there.

I love it! I can't wait for the next time! Bring it on!

I got my first brick in at the end of last week. I did my backwards, run, bike, because I was still using my trainer. I did not want to go outside and run in the cold after getting sweaty. The brick is the most important part of training. It is also what makes us multi-sport people. I can run with my runnning friends, and I can bike with biking friends, but they can't do bricks with me. Keep it up. If you can run after biking you are just about ready.

Congratulations Davido.  Great accomplishment.  No worries about shortened strides at the start of the run.  It's very normal.  Keep up the good work!
