Subject: bike tune up??
How often do you get your bike tuned up?  What do you have your LBS do and what do you do on your own?

Never had my bike tuned up but I did have "cyclocross levers" removed just a few days ago and they had to run new cables & insulation. Feels like it was tuned up! Shifts smoother and the brakes grab harder. Here's a maintenance chart, dunno if this helps you find what you're searching for or not:

I don't take it to the LBS unless there is actually something wrong with the bike that I can't fix myself.

I give it a good clean before every race and between races I just maintain the chain by lubing it every so often.  I also replace the chain at least once a year.

some people will get a tune up at LBS before their 'A' race esp if it is a half or full IM
