Wanting to drop down to my 200lbs, optimal weight range.  Although I am out of shape, cardivascularly speaking, I am going to start w/ Michael Pate's "Total Sprint" and combine it with some HIIT and resistance training.

I may bump up the initial times in the "Total Sprint" because I can do more than it asks for, but is this a good place to start for me?

I like it You may find yourself adjusting it to suit your strengths and weakness, but hey--it's a good starting point.

Welcome mesomorph-

it is an honor to meet an honest to God mutant shapeshifter!

Total sprint is a good place to start - try not to get overly ambitious with bumping things up unless you feel WAY ahead.  You would do better to feel vigorous through 3-4 weeks then spend 3-4 months nursing an injury from overtraining from a place of confessed cardiovascular weakness.   Just my two cents.
