HI  It was fun. We saw more than 20 elk and probably 10 or so mulies. Unfortunately there weren't any bucks close enough to shoot.

If you ever want a good workout climbing in the mtns for 6 days is it. HOLY CRAP!! Base camp was at 10,500ish feet and we climbed at a couple thousand feet each and every day, and there aren't any nice groomed trails out there!

Hard, but fun, and well worth the trip, even though our freezer is still empty!

Bummer, one of my electricians was out there for three weeks.  He tried a new spot and also came back empty.  Another one of my electricians is out now, she usally does better.  I hope so, she always feeds us well Laughing

Coulda had something to do with the killing of a Mountain lion in our camp right before we arrived. The CDOW had to come in and retrieve it and investigate, they were still there the day we packed in.

All was fine. The cat was 15 feet away from the hunter, crouched down started to jump at him and the hunter shot her in the chest. Immediate kill, good thing as he was shooting a muzzleloader!!

Well, all was fine except for all the commotion in the area!  Probably moved the elk around a bit I imagine. Saw some HUGE racks on cars on the drive back though. Hopefully your friend was lucky!
