Subject: WHERE TO STAY IN OCEANSIDE??
Ok so i want to make the hotel reservations for the 70.3 in April. Where are some of the best places to stay near the race site? The sponsor hotel at 168.00 a night with the discount is way to much. I think it will just be me and the wife i am thinking of leaving the kids with grandma while we are gone.

When I did a race at Camp Pendleton last summer, I stayed at the Courtyard in Carlsbad.  I used points, but I don't think the rates were that bad, and as I recall it was about a 15-20 min drive.

Inns of America is a nice residence type hotel. Reasobale cost and I was very comfy when i stayed there.

We stayed at the Guesthouse Inn, and we didn't have a problem.  Lots of racers there, walked to /from the race site.

I know a couple people that have stayed there and had less enviable experiences though, so YMMV.
