Subject: RE: Cramps in my sideIf you are talking about side stitches I've suffered on and off ever since I began try-ing. I get those more frequently when I eat/drink too close to a run or too much during a race. The way I can battle them is by breathing; if the side stitch is on the right side I inhale when my left foot hits the ground and exhale when my right foot hits the ground (I usually breathe every 2-3 steps depending on speed ). If the side stitch is on the left side I do the opposite. If you do this correctly you can get rid of those by slowing down the pace a bit but without stopping. Otherwise just stop and get your breathing in rhythm with your cadence. Try it, again if it is a side stitch this has helped me as recently as my last Oly race. Do a Google search on side stitches for more info; good luck! |
