Subject: Leg length difference or tight body out of alignmnent?
Does anyone have a difference in leg length (confirmed by an MD or PT)? Or was this an issue with tight muscles/tendons, etc.?
How different are they? What helped and what didn't

I sometimes wonder if I have that issue. My left quads tire faster and more than the right. Also, when running, it really feels like my right leg is longer by the way I need to step. I don't get this feeling or issue when on my feet or walking for along time. I've always had issues with my right knee - leading me to suspect a longer right leg. I really need to make an effort in running form. And yes, I have been on the look out for sloped streets/sidwalks, etc.

I hope my suspicions come simply from needing to stretch more. I'm not crazy about needing expensive orthotics.

99% of the population has one leg longer than the other. For most it's not big enough to make a difference. Ask a doc, and find a reputable running store/coach that can do a gait analysis.

You know, I've never understood the concept of "body being out of alignment", but I guess hordes of chiropractors make good money from it...

I'm not sure about the length of your limbs, but pretty much everyone has a muscular imbalance from right to left.  It comes from how we sit, carry things, which side we favor while doing daily tasks, etc.  It may be an issue coming from your hips or spine as well.  If it's really bothering you, have a PT, sports med specialist or perhaps even a chiropractor look at it.

If that's the case, a PT could definitely give you stretches and hopefully help you avoid more costly fixes.

About 1 month ago I felt like my body was out of alignment -1 leg felt shorter than the other and my hips and body felt torqued. Went to the Chiropractor and sure enough, 1 of my legs was 1/2" shorter than the other (had not had leg length issues before). Got a few good manipulations in and was back to same length legs almost instantly.
