IM reg for 2010?

Based on what we had heard for the IMLP volunteers this year, they were still going to be using NASports policy for this year.  Then supposedly they will be going to more of the IMKY approach where it just opens online in the future.

But I'd just try and contact WTC to see for sure.

There is also the question, for instance, of this years Boise 70.3 participants had the option to sign up for IMCDA 2010 as well (on the day after the race) I emailed the IM people and asked if that would occur next year as well since I am already planning on doing Boise 70.3 in 2010, would I be able to sign up for IMCDA 2011 and they did not know. It kind of sounds like the whole system is a bit in flux right now. The other question I have is, with the popularity of some races they will get  thousands of people trying to sign up online if it only opens up that way and probably 1. crash the server and 2. many people will be unable to sign up who should have been able to. Even though it could cost a lot more for some to have to fly to the race course 1 year before I think that is a good way of ensuring that those who are truly dedicated to doing this will do it. My point of view may be wrong or invalid as I have not done an IM yet but I will eventually!

NASports already went through all that.  Now WTC has to deal with it as most of their own races never sell out in an hour or less like the NAS ran ones did (FL, WI, LP).  In fact, LP sold out on site last year and there WERE no online registrations available.  Which was why I was going to go to LP to volunteer this year so I could guarantee a '10 slot.  But I'm not doing any more long stuff for a while, so it is not an issue for me anymore.
