Subject: First test ride on new tri bikeI took my new tri bike (2008 Specialized Transition Pro ) on a quick test ride up and down my street tonight. It was getting dark, so I didnt get a chance to really get on it or get in the aero position, but I should be able to get a good ride in this weekend. Have a couple of questions/observations... First of all, I feel very comfortable on a road bike. I can roll up to a stop sign, look both ways as I do a quick track stand, and then proceed. I have good handling capabilities while in a large group, and I even had short aero bars on my road bike for awhile that I had great control in (could ride in a group while in them with no problems whatsoever, though I only did so to make sure that I could ) and could even reach down and get a drink while in the aero position. With the quick ride tonight, I felt very different on the bike. I'm sure I just have to get used to it, but I noticed I was a little wobbly, especially approaching the stop sign at the end of the road. I couldnt even consider looking both ways, I had to stop completely and put my foot down. It seemed like the ride was very sensitive, and I felt very high off the ground. By the way, I was going pretty slow obviously....it did feel nice while going a little faster. Is this pretty normal? I did notice that the bike seemed to get to a good speed with very little effort. I attribute this to the carbon wheels. Edited by saldana_joel 2009-07-15 11:10 PM
