A cautionary tale for those you in northern Virginia, Arlington specifically.  I got up Saturday morning, threw my bike on the car rack and drove down to Lyon Village Shopping Center.  Custis Trail runs right behind it.  I was going to go for a ride, and then drop off my dry cleaning, visit Big Wheel Bikes, and maybe grab a few things at Giant.  I got back about an hour later and my car had been towed.  I read the posted signs as two hour parking for people doing business at the shopping center.  What I didn't read so closely was a sentence that said you may not leave the premises.  My fault but very annoying.  I have driven down there before and rented a bike from Big Wheel Bikes and then been gone for well more than two hours.  Guess I got lucky then.

Hopefully someone will read this and not make the same expensive mistake I made.

Ouch. That would ruin a perfectly good ride.
Only 2 hours??  I could easily kill 2 hours in a bike shop.............

I left my bike rack on.  I guess it was a big neon sign screaming "TOW ME!"  But it was eight in the morning for crying out loud.

That stinks.  Next time just go back on Lorcom or Nelly Custis, there is plenty of street parking there and it's right around the corner.  They seem to be really cracking down on stuff in this area, lots of speed traps both ways on Spout run lately, and this, lol guess Arlington needs the money...
