Anybody know when the MS150 Houston to Austin registration opens? I know it closed in only 6 hours last year and I want to make sure I get in.

Thanks

yep, just read registration opens in oct sometime.

i'm relatively new to road biking and i'm curious what the field is like for this event?  is it a mix of riders and bikes or is it 98% roadies on road bikes?  i've know a couple of people that did it on mtb's.  any tri bikes?

and i heard lots of folks like to party on the overnight stay?

This ride is FANTASTIC... I've done it for about 3 years now. I did the Dallas to Fort Worth one this year (due to scheduling conflict) and it was just not the same.

I have seen all sorts of people do this ride from roadies to tri bikes, to unicycles. I have even seen a team of inline speed skaters do this! With about 15k people on the road, I prefer to take my road bike, b/c usually we just stay in pace lines and that can be very dangerous on a tri bike.

Also - if this is your first time for the MS150, it is a MUST to join a corporate team (hundreds of them). They each have their own huge carnival tent at the overnight with beer and food!

Most importantly it is a opportunity to raise money and awareness for a cause that is close to my heart.
