Subject: Replacing Brake Hoods

Anybody have experience replacing the brake hoods (specifically for a Shimano Ultegra, 10-speed)? My road bike is white and red and I'm replacing the white bar tape that is currently gray/black to red. I also want to replace the black hoods to white ones (I know, how girly).

Anyways, do I just roll the old ones off and then roll the new ones off or do I actually have to disconnect the breaks from the bar?

Any advice would be appreciated!

I pretty certain that Shimano you need to remove from the bars, Campy and SRAM you can install without removing the levers.

I changed my wifes Campy to pink Hudz to match the rest of the bike (clearcoated black carbon with pink and white accents, with a pink saddle and bar tape). I really like the Hudz, not only the shape, but also how easy they are to install. Plus, Hudz are colormatched to Deda bartape, so pink Hudz and pink Deda bartape does look awesome!

Thanksfor the reply! Now I've got a little research to do, I've never taken the breaks off the bar before. I was actually looking at the HUDZ too. Did you put on their original ones or did you go with the soft grips? How does your wife like them?

I wish my wife would do this for me so I could be color coordinated!

Awesome. I bought the grey Hudz, but I haven't installed them yet. I have grey Deda bar tape, so it's good two find out that they are the same colour.
