Subject: RE: Moving to London ... There's quite a bit of OWS swimming in London or so I'm finding out at the moment! There's a couple of good tri / ows swimming clubs and coaching setups (swim4tri springs to mind ) so you shouldn't have any issues with that.
As to Hyde Park - I used to run there on my lunch breaks and it was great for that but it gets packed in the summer. I also rode through it on my daily commute and as Pashda says it isn't all that great. If you're in central London then there are a few parks but to be honest it's pretty easy to get out of London on the bike. I'm in north London so just ride north for 5 or 6 miles and I'm in the countryside pretty much. South London is much more "leafy and green" than north London so I'm guessing the roads will generally be better to ride on.
Oh one bit of advice - the roads are really aggressive so be prepared for a bun fight and people actually aiming for you. That said it is damn good fun sprinting through the traffic lol
One final point - welcome to London and the UK! |
