Destination Races : 2 races in Thailand

For those of you looking to get away from the cold later this year, there are a couple of good races that are run on successive weekends on the island of Phuket in Thailand. The Laguna Phuket and the Phuket 70.3 Ironman are run at the same beach complex, so no switching hotel. There are great hotels within walking distance of the start/finish. The T1/T2 and finish are located at the same spot and are the same for both races. The bike and run courses for each race are different.

There were over 100 folks that raced the 'Double' in 2010 and I would suspect that there will be many more in 2011. I believe registration opens 1 March. The first race, The Laguna Phuket Triathlon, sells out in about a week.
