Subject: 310xt soft reset?
Last two workouts my 310xt didn't find the satellites so I have no distance even though it worked in prior workouts. It defaulted to ask if I was inside? if I was within xx miles of last workout? date? I entered those but still never recorded distance. I rode yesterday and ran today.

Would doing a soft reset help?  I don't recall how to do it...anyone know?

Any other ideas?

A soft reset would likely work. To do it, hold down Power (Top left button) and Mode (bottom right button) together for a few seconds (5 I think). It'll beep and show you all the stats on the garmin (model, firmware, date, etc.).

Another thing is to fully charge the battery, take it outside, turn it on and let it sit for 10mins or so. When the "Locating satellites" appears, press the up/down keys to see which satellites it's picking up if any.

Lastly, go through the menu (Menu, GPS, Settings, Enable), and disable the satellites, turn it off, on, reenable the satellites, and see if that clears it up.

Mine's had that issue before, but a reset seems to fix it pretty quickly.

Hold both buttons on the left side of the 310 for a soft/hard reboot.
Hold down the mode button while you turn on the power.
Should work.
