I'm from vancouver, bc and I'm going to do my first tri (sprint) on sept. 18th... a little wary... i'm comfortable doing the three sports..i've just never raced them... I just came back from Ironman canada (watching it) and signed up for a triathlon. i have no idea what kind of headspace to be in to race three different activities in a row...the whole idea of the transitions and organising it is a little overwhelming. but i guess i'll learn. i'm glad i found this site, it's totally helpful..and y'all seem purdy cool. t.

Hello there Thara. I'm new here as well. Back in Edmonton from camping in Penticton with my family and had the opportunity to witness some of the ironmen getting prepared. It was pretty amazing! I suddenly decided that at 40, I was going to give it a try. While there I told my wife and daughter that triathalon has always interested me. My 9 year old daughter very quickly assured me that I might not be an ironman, but I could definitely be a jellyman. Now theres some inspiration to get going!!
Have always been interested in tri but it always seemed out there in terms of physical ability. In the last couple of months I started running again....and now to try and throw cycling and swimming into the mix!!!!! It's very intimidating. Very lucky to have found this awesome site with it's wealth of info. Looking forward to learning more from all of you who contribute to this site.

Good luck to you thara, and everybody out there like us. Maybe we'll meet at the start line in the Peach city one day. Hey ya gotta think big!!

Cheers.
