Subject: To run or not to run?

I was once told by this drunk dude that I should listen to my basset hound, because she will speak to me… After 1.5 years of ownership I’ve yet to hear Lilly do her best Mr. Ed impression. (the only thing I do hear is her saying bisect)

More times then I can count I’ve heard people say "I listen to my body" well this weekend I ran 23 miles in prep for my up coming marathon after the run I felt good in fact I went to church, did some yard work, etc... (and watched my beloved Chiefs beat the Raiders!!!)

Thus leads me to my question:
This morning (day after 23 miles) my legs are typical sore but my left knee hurts... I’m not limping around work but it’s noticeable when I extend my leg… Should I continue with the marathon or just do the half?

(one caveat is that I just did a marathon on 10/16)

Eric

LOL!! Listening to drunk dudes and dogs can get you in trouble. I say if you can run 23 miles and even stand the next day then you're OK. But don't listen to me 'cause I also listen to drunks and dogs.

How long do you have before your marathon? Is the pain in the front of your knee or in the back of your knee? You may be able to ice/rest for a day or two and still do your marathon. Personally, I would take it day by day and put the decision off until the last minute.

2 weeks until my marathon... the pain (was) in the front of my knee... The pain is already going away but I will take your advice and do some rest & ice
