Subject: National teams and Pro Teams

Was reading about Pro racing teams earlier on today and was wondering, how many of them are there? Could someone like me end up in one if I worked at it or are they for the top competitors?

Likewise how easy / how do you represent your country as an age grouper?

Just wondering, and dreaming!

Cheers

UCI has 18 pro teams on the Pro Tour (but there are other "classes" of pro teams)...  as to weather you could "make" one or not... I have no idea, but I'd say that they chances are slim simply based on pure numbers.

There are pro teams, but it's probably easier to represent your country as an age grouper.

From your logs it looks like you're biking about 15mph and running 9min/mi. That's a long way away from becoming a pro but if you worked extremely hard for a long time who knows.

As for the age grouper part. I qualified for the duathlon world championships as an age grouper and it wasn't all that difficult so that could be a way to go.

Yeah I thought as much.

Also as far as my logs go I haven't used them in a while so don't think they represent my true ability level. Although I know I am ages off pro and it would be so much work. But was just wondering, it would be nice!

But hey I wont rule out being an age grouper quite yet!

Cheers
