Subject: RE: Hello, So new I haven't really even really done anything, yet...Hi Dan -- welcome to the sport. Just making the decision is half the battle. Don't worry about your current fitness or size because one thing you will find quickly is that this sport is filled with people of all shapes and sizes and it is a true judgement free zone.
Start slow and start small and listen to your body. There are some pretty good plans for beginners on here that should be able to help you get started. Work with what you have and I think you will really enjoy it. Because of your background, your swimming should come back to you fairly quickly.
I would set a goal for yourself and sign up for an event -- a sprint or a super sprint is a good place to start with the goal of finishing. It's easier to train and stay focused if you have a little bit of pressure on you to do so.
And if you have questions along the way -- just ask -- there are a ton of people on here that know a bunch about a bunch!
Good luck and enjoy the ride! |
