Subject: Page Displays Last message

When displaying a thread from the New Threads list, the page always defaults to show the last message in the thread on the page. I have to scroll up to the top to read the first message. It did not always used to do this.

If I display a thread from the list of all messages in a particular forum (forum view), this does not happen.

Is there a setting somewhere that controls this? It is driving me crazy having to scroll up to the first message every time.

Thanks!

I'm ambivalent on this one. Anybody else care to offer their opinion? Agree, oppose?

I guess I have already given my opinion, but will try to justify. I am not sure why I would ever want to start reading a thread at the bottom. Not trying to sound so picky, but every thread that I open I have to click-click-click or page up-page up-page-up or hit home and then scroll down a little. It seems like several unnecessary steps.

I appreciate it jumping to the bottom sometimes, but as rollinsw says, it can be rather annoying, too.  Other forums I frequent have an option for you to go to the first unread post rather than have to start at the top or bottom and scroll through.  FWIW....
