Wake up at 5:15, drank a Starbucks double espresso. Yum. Drove to event at 6 am.

I was very happy with my biking effort. I pushed hard at times, but had a blast reeling in bikers with better run times and earlier waves.

What would you do differently?:

I was holding my heart under 165. I probably can let it fly a bit with 2 miles to go.

Warm down:

Walked around. Ate a piece of pizza and drank a soda.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I performed better than I ever had before today. So, I can only assume that more of the Pigg / Maffetone program will do the trick.

Event comments:

All of the rain caused the swim to be cancelled. What can you do? I had a good time anyway, and had a really good race.

Great race. How did you keep your heart rate down after drinking that Starbucks? I am afraid to drink coffee before a race because of the bathroom effects.
