Subject: Equipment Tracker UPDATES

Performance Members, we have the 'tomp and JBrashear' equipment tracker updates based on their input from earlier this year.  Cool stuff.  Thanks guys!

Updates:

  • Log the same equipment for more than one triathlon sport
  • Ability to retire equipment
  • Create comments with time/distance and date stamps
  • Generate a list w/links of all workouts using that equipment
  • Show all retired equipment

NOTE, It's best to retire a piece of equipment once your are done as any updates to the 'date equipped' field will only generate data from that date on.

Go directly to your log control panel to access the 'equipment tracker' link.

very cool.... question though, i am no expert but outside of running shoes and my bike i am not sure what would go in here....?? is there a list of stuff somewhere or a drop down window?? example, do my goggles, bike shoes, etc... have a shelf life. guess just looking for some clarity on what the tracker knows to keep track of....
thanks,

You can use it as a training tool as well - see how many miles/yards you've logged with a particular piece of equipment (paddles, fins, pull buoy, race wheels, bike frame, trainer, treadmill, ipod) or even put in environmental type things.  Open water vs, pool.  Bike rides in Chicago vs. North Carolina (if you're the travelling type like me).

For stuff that doesn't really have a shelf life, it would still be good to know how long that particular piece of equipment will last you until it fails (so that with your new piece of equipment you'll have a general idea of when the last one failed).

Right now, figuring out mileage is up to you.

Rule of thumb for running shoes is a replacement every 300-400 miles.  This is what you would enter into the tracker and then a warning will go up.  Or use the date option if you log high miles and want to replace your shoes every 3, 4 or 6 months.

You can regularly schedule bike maintenance too.  Some bike websites have recommended mileage to perform tuneups and replace certain parts.  Example, every 1500 miles.

I would be interested the lifespan of other equipment that people log as in the future, another enhancement would be an auto-dropdowns of common options.

So when do you replace/tuneup your equipment?
