Master 1397 Granvile, Ohio | Subject: RE: January Challenge - Biking - Time goals Hey everyone! This is gonna be one fun month. These challenges have been working really well for me to focus on a specific area each month. I plan to get more T.I.T.S. this January, than ever before. My initial goal is 750 minutes, but I may have to adjust it when I get my new training plan next week. I'm really just looking for some consistent riding time to get my legs stronger and hill worthy in the spring. We've got an awesome motivating team this month. No question we're going to ROCK this challenge! |

Expert 715 Twin Cities | Subject: RE: January Challenge - Biking - Time goals I fully agree - this will be the most T.I.T.S. that I will have had in a month... I am looking forward to using a lot of the time for fat burning, and dealing with the monotony of long distance rides. I will also try to shake it up with some spinning classes to get some good anaerobic threshold work! |

Pro 6582 Melbourne FL | Subject: RE: January Challenge - Biking - Time goals Woohoo, team T.I.T.S.! I'm looking forward to this month as I so need this. I'm going to be very busy this month at work so a lot of biking will be back and forth to work but will be getting on the TB too especially on weekends for the "long rides". I compiled the team list with our blogs linked below: TriAya Hard to tell, are we officially the "D-Cups", LOL! |

"Team T.I.T.S." or "D-Cups" or "The Double D's"...either way you look at it I guess we're lettin' it all hang out (so to speak) for the month! I'll go along with the general consensus for a team name. Personally I don't think you can get enough T.I.T.S. and for an old geezer that can be surprising. Here's to lotsa time in the saddle!

I'll go along with the general consensus for a team name. Personally I don't think you can get enough T.I.T.S. and for an old geezer that can be surprising. Here's to lotsa time in the saddle! MAX!!! I knew you were a hottie, but what delightful proof! That colorful arm just begs to be nibbled on ... In fact this is a team of super-hotties, what else would you expect of Team T.I.T.S.??? AND YES, that means YOU, Gill and Sharon! I know you're skulking around thinking oh not me, but you are two VERY lovely and brilliant ladies. There is nothing more attractive than good strokes and sweating, riding hard, and we will ALL be doing plenty of that! So here's a thought ... I nominate Max as team captain (only the best and most experienced to handle the T.I.T.S., you know), and if you PM marma, as you know, he can either yea or nay the title. If it's nay, then Double D is a fiiiine name too. |

Champion 8903 | Subject: RE: January Challenge - Biking - Time goals OK, sounds good to me, we'll stick with TEAM T.I.T.S. until marmadaddy puts the boot on it. LOL...I think we're safe for the time being! I guess we can do this a number of ways, you can upload your own hours to the Google Spread Sheet that Dee posted and it can be found here: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=puhAA5NRKHA3GjPCv92GJFQ&hl=en Barring that, if you have trouble doing it, you can simply post your weekly riding time here, or send it to me in a PM or drop a note into my blog inspire list...any way you choose to do it will be fine. Try and keep track of your daily riding time and it helps if you post it in your own workout blog, if you're using that BT feature. It's only minutes away from New Years Day (on the east coast at least as I post this) so let's get off to a flying start and live up to our nickname. Lotsa "Time In The Saddle"!!!

Expert 715 Twin Cities | Subject: RE: January Challenge - Biking - Time goals Okay, Introduction: Hi, I'm Sharon (Shaz), I have been actively training for, and participating in, triathlons since Feb 2005. My performance goals are listed on my member page, so I will not repeat them here. My "achilles" tendon is actually a stubborn peroneus brevis tendon, but I am doing daily PT to strengthen, recover, etc. This is the biggest challenge for "going long" right now. And, I will be dropping 25-30 additional pounds by June of this year - get to fightin' weight! I have been a "biker" pretty much all of my life, but I started "long distance" biking back in '97 when I found out that my sister has MS. I was living in GA at the time, and wanted to do something to help the cause... so I entered the MS150 - just two months before the event, and after three years of minimal biking due to work/life priorities. Needless to say, I was hooked. Now that I am living in MN, I do the MN MS150 on an annual basis. I intend to do my first century (ever) on April 29th (even if it is snowing) during the annual Ironman Bike Ride. After that, I want to do a century during every >40 degree month that we have. I am looking forward to our challenge to help me with all of my goals, to talk smack, and to help pass the time during the really cold month of January! |

Champion 8903 | Subject: RE: January Challenge - Biking - Time goals I am Max, your team captain, the title of which was thrust upon me, but I willingly take on the challenge. I am no youngster here, and I've moved up to a new age group. As of today I'm now in the M60-64 category (though I won't officially be 60 until July). I never thought I'd see it, but funny, you turn around and there you are. I've been an avid cyclist since 1975, and a triathlete since 2004. I've completed Ironman Lake Placid 3 times and am currently training for Ironman Arizona in November 2008. I live in north central Massachusetts with my wife (who also blogs here as PT Cruzer), have 2 sons (25 and 30) and 2 grandchildren. Besides triathlons, I also love hiking and backpacking and my all time favorite place to go is the Grand Canyon. I've got a few other eccentricities...I'm a tattoo junkie, I enjoy painting my fingernails, and I play the guitar rather poorly. In other words, just your everyday nut job.

Master 1397 Granvile, Ohio | Subject: RE: January Challenge - Biking - Time goals Okay, my turn. I'm Tam, Tammy, TNick, all of the above. I too started triathlons in 2005. I've spent my whole life as pretty much a fat, lazy person, and its been just a blast to turn my life around to an active, fit, triathlete. It's amazing to me that I'm even able to say that! I've no biking, swimming, or running background and I pretty much struggle in all three disciplines, but I'm enthusiastic and I have a great time training. My focus this year is to try and train a little smarter and develop some technique and hope that with technique comes maybe just a tiny bit of speed. Consistency is what I'm looking for this month. Consisitently get on the bike 3 times a week and riding, Day one and I already love this team. Good luck everyone. Let's kick a little a$$ this month! |

Expert 935 South eastern Ohio | Subject: RE: January Challenge - Biking - Time goals I'll go next...My name is Chris and I am 46 soon to be 47yr young Wife, Mom and Granmom. I came to Tri from running as a way to not be injured so much. Now it is my addiction. This will be my fourth year doing this crazy sport that we all seem to love. I tend to do mostly longer stuff...not an Ironman..yet. But I do the longer stuff cause while I'm not that fast I can go for a long time. That sounds kind of weird but oh well. My main focus this year is to get my running speed up, my biking speed up and getting more time in the pool. And I am focused on completing the DeSoto TTT for the second year and not being DFL. I train alone alot with the exception of my loyal running partner, Freya. Looking forward to the Challenge and to being pushed to keep myself on the bike. Have a great day! Chris |
