It's official. The date for the 2012 Wisconsin Dells race will be August 12th 2012. We will have both a Half and Olympic distance. The finish line will be outside of Noah's Ark and the start will be at Tommy Bartlett. Should be a great venue!
I will be attending...still deciding on racing or volunteering. Doing IMWI again next year so need to plan the logistics of racing that weekend with training. Anyone else up for a trip to Knoxville in May for an early race?
I get the feeling there not 'allowed' to have a full Ironman distance because the Ironman corp. probably has some legal thing that they can be the only full Ironman distance in the state of WI?
From everything i have seen on REV3 they put on a really really good race and make it extremely enjoyable for the crowds and familys to come watch.
They have one full distance race as of now in Ohio. They just call it a full rev.
I also hope that some of the cheaper, fun, local races survive all the other race companies buying up other races and adding new ones. There is a ton of races already and some of my favorite races are losing participants... especially the fund raising races for charity.
I am eyeing this race for some final preperation before IMWI next year, but a year out is too early to commit. Hopefully it is still open come May or June. Very excited to have Rev 3 in our backyard!
I am in, as long as my coach says it is ok (have 3 Ironman on the plan next year). There is a group of us from the Madcity who will be heading up for some fun times.
My wife and I are planning on the Oly. Hilly yes...but you can't beat the venue. Great area, and we'll be turning this into a week long family vacation. Can't wait!
Road crews are putting down new asphalt this week on the road into Baraboo. Was out on some of the roads last weekend, this is a great course. If you are looking for a nice fall ride with lots of colors, this is the spot.
